Marcelo D2 is the leader and vocalist from rap-rock band 'Planet Hemp' that have sold over 900,000 units in Brazil. "A Procura da Batida Perfeita" is the long waited second solo album from MD2, the first album "Eu Tiro É Onda" has sold over 100,000 units. Marcelo D2 was the biggest winner on MTV Brazil Music Awards 2003: Best Video of The Year, Best Rap Video and Best Director. Marcelo D2 won the best lyricist from The Brazilian Lyrics Academy. "A Procura da Batida Perfeita” was elected the best album in 2003 by APCA (Arts Critics Association of São Paulo). As Marcelo says, the object was to make an album for posterity ('Pra Posteridade'). In particular the track 'Loadeando?' which claims "Eu me desenvolvo e evoluo com meu filho..." (I´m growing up with my son...). Sung with his own son Stephan, it already fulfills this objective. "A Procura da Batida Perfeita" è il suo secondo album che è stato lungamente atteso.Il primo album "l'Eu Tiro É Onda" ha venduto oltre 100.000 copie. Marcelo D2 è stato colui che ha vinto più premi 2003 di MTV in Brasile: miglior video dell'anno, miglior video rap e migliore regia. Marcelo D2 è stato eletto il miglior liricista dell’accademia brasiliana della lirica. “A Procura da Batida Perfeita” è stato scelto come l'album migliore nel 2003 da APCA (associazione dei critici di arti di São Paulo). Come dice Marcelo l'oggetto era fare un album per la posterità ('Pra Posteridade '). In particolare la canzone 'Loadeando?' la quale recita "Eu me desenvolvo e evoluo com meu filho..." (Sto crescendo con mio figlio...) è cantata con suo figlio Stephan. Nella canzone “A Procura da Batida Perfeita” (cercando il suono perfetto) Marcelo D2 entra nel vivo del suo primo album, nel quale è riuscito a trovare una fusione perfetta del samba con l’hip hop, ancora più evidente nel suo secondo album.Ascoltando l'album, sembra che questo hip hop derivi dal samba e non dal DJs e dal Reggaemen della Giamaica. L’Hip-Hop Brasiliano sta assumendo un’identità definita. Marcelo D2 è un maestro di questo genere, un artista reale, nato e cresciuto nel mondo brasiliano.
