BIOGRAPHY

An explosive band of 10 musicians, born in the Habana’s underground music environment is coming to Europe this year, to present their new album "Superfinos Negros" (Warner) after their successful participation in the movie “Habana Blues”. A winning mix of Funk, Rumba, Jazz, Mambo, Drum&Bass, Son, Reggae....

Free Hole Negro was born in Cuba in 1999, developing the influence and the spirit of the Habana’s underground music to the point of creating their own style: the Free Hop!
It is a style that combines all the current international musical trends with the most traditional of the Cuban rhythms. Rap, Son Montuno, Reggae, Drum & Bass, Rumba, Mambo, Hip-Hop, Funk are all harmonized together.... the result is an original creation, a sound with its own, distinct identity.
Free Hole Negro stands for ‘pure energy’. Their name plays upon words referring to the energy produced both by the ‘black holes’ in space as well as by the black beans (frijoles), a typical Cuban popular food.

“Superfinos Negros” is their brand new, first album. It is the result of five years of work, spent playing in many festival and concerts. It is the mature expression of their musical research.

Free Hole Negro nasce a Cuba nel 1999. sotto l’influenza dell’underground dell’Havana fino a raggiungere un suo proprio stile: il Free Hop!
E’ uno stile che vuole fondere tutte le tendenze musicali internazionali con i ritmi cubani più tradizionali, cosi che si creano armonie tra il Funk, la Rumba, il Mambo, il Drum & Bass, il Son Montuno, il Reagge, il Rap…… dando risultato a una creazione veramente distinta, contemporanea e autentica con un propia identità.
Il significato di Free Hole Negro racchiude un gioco di concetti che si muovono nell’uso dell’energia, dall’allusione al buco nero dello spazio all’energia che offre un alimento i “ frijoles negros” (fagioli neri), cibo popolare cubano.

Questo nuovo e primo album “Superfinos Negros” è un affermazione di 5 anni di lavoro, una nascita dalla terra verso un frutto maturo, la difesa di una vita più naturale e ottimista
